Dr. Weidong Chen is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of the Built Environment at the National University of Singapore, specializing in advanced thermal energy systems and sustainable cooling technologies. His research encompasses water sorption porous materials, desiccant-based dehumidification, adsorption cooling, digital twin, and high-performance heat exchanger design. Dr. Chen received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Honors) from Tongji University. His research career includes key contributions to adsorption system optimization, coupled cooling systems, desiccant-coated heat exchangers, and multigeneration energy systems. Driven by the goal of enhancing energy efficiency and sustainable cooling performance, Dr. Chen’s work focuses on developing innovative sorption materials, optimizing integrated cooling systems, and advancing next-generation cooling solutions for buildings and industrial applications.
